Almost useful TSA security line wait time data

I stumbled across a post on Digg, that pointed to an almost useful TSA tool.

As it turns out the TSA uses data from the last 4 weeks to develop their wait time calculations. The problem is, this method doesn’t factor in holidays, like say for instance, the busiest travel period of the year.

In an incredible move for a government organization, the TSA makes its 4-week historic data available via XML. It looks like they’ve been publishing this data for close to a year. I’m going to see if I can track down the xml files for the prior year. It seems like you ought to be able to build something useful fairly easily with this data.
